Not a lot of US-based kratom vendors offer live kratom plants. So, it’s definitely interesting to see brands like Kratom Eye trying to change the norm. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Kratom Eye is an indie kratom source that offers a variety of curious kratom products and beyond.
Kratom Eye sells everything from powders, to soaps, to kratom alternatives, and even live plants. They even offer a modest selection of what they call ‘enhancing herbs’ to help you maximize the effects of kratom. While their online presence might not be too overwhelming, their cult following has kept their operation afloat for years.
Kratom Eye’s website states that the vendor has been around since 2013. But despite having been on the market for almost a decade, the vendor’s online storefront remains fairly unimproved. Nonetheless, its indie-aesthetic appeals to a large demographic of kratom buyers.
Albeit clumsy and cluttered, their website does provide a relatively effortless shopping experience. Of course, don’t expect ultra-efficient layouts or product categories. But you should be able to get around and find what you need in just a few clicks.
Products at Kratom Eye include powders, kratom soaps, kratom alternative, enhancing herbs, and a variety of other botanicals. The star of their show however, remains to be their live cuttings.
Kratom Eye’s live kratom plants easily run out of stock. But when they are available between spring and fall, the vendor offers quite the broad selection of live plant varieties. They sell both rooted and non-rooted cuttings that they carefully ship to your address so they remain viable even after transit.
Other products in their line arrive packaged in generic resealable standing bags. Powder picks come in weights of 14g, 28g, 56g, 84g, 112g, 140g, 168g, 224g, 280g, 336g, 392g, 500g, and 1000g. As of writing, Kratom Eye doesn’t offer kratom capsules on their website.
Most of their products tout quite a handful of customer reviews. For the most part, it seems their buyers appreciate the caliber of their product and the kind of service they provide. Elsewhere on the web, reviews for Kratom Eye are limited. But even then, a few threads on Reddit explore its polished service and product offerings.
At a glance, Kratom Eye looks more like a budget vendor for their basic branding. But a closer look at their offers proves that they’re actually significantly more expensive than the usual kratom vendor.
In a way, you might say that Kratom Eye’s products are exorbitantly priced, especially when you consider the cost of kratom products sold through other reputable vendors.
|KRATOM EYE||ACADICA||CAROLINA KRATOM|
|Powders||Starts at $6.50 for 14g||Starts at $29.95 for 250g||Starts at $12.64 for 30g|
|$35 for 140g||$49.95 for 500g||$22.27 for 100g|
|$105 for 500g||$89.95 for 1000g||$39.77 for 250g|
|$145 for 1000g||$75.57 for 1000g|
Kratom Eye sells powder between 0.46¢ and 0.145¢ per gram. For context, some vendors sell kilograms for as low as $75, like Carolina Kratom. Even Acadica, which stands as one of the most reputable kratom sources on the web, offers their kilograms for just two-thirds the cost of Kratom Eye’s.
Even in the face of their expensive prices, Kratom Eye still gets loads of love and praise from a wide audience. The vendor features lots of reviews on their website, but there are a few other sources online that talk about their products and services.
“By far the best kratom company out there is kratom eye. I’ve gone through many vendors and have used kratom for creativity, motivation and productivity for about ten years now.” – Kratom Eye Website
“I love this brand …The quality of your products are excellent. They are always the same and I never have to wonder if the next order would be different. I mix both of the products together which helps me with my desired outcome.” – Kratom Eye website
“Very pleased with my purchase. Quality of the product seems to be top notch, the free “surprise me” sample was great as well. I had no problems at all. This is the place to get your kratom!” – Kratom Eye website
“I ordered a rooted cutting from them and they sent me a free oz with it and it was so good, it was their green dayak. Ever since that free oz I have made my last 3 purchases through them and their consistency has been amazing. I think they are my new favorite vendor[.]” – Reddit user
“I love them! Been using them for a few months now. They have a really good red Bali! And a lot of great blends, too!” – Reddit user
It’s not all rainbows and butterflies. Kratom Eye gets its fair share of criticism from buyers who aren’t completely satisfied with the products and services they provide.
What you will notice however that most reviews on their website that rank the vendor less than five stars curiously get their comments censored. So, while their star rating remains, any comments they leave with their feedback gets blotted out.
That said, you won’t find critical comments on their website for their products, although they probably really exist.
“Their products never worked great for me, but I do like their strain names & marketing.” – Reddit user
“It was a littler underwhelming…I will give this place another shot with a different strain next time.” – Kratom Eye website
“Website is somewhat confusing.” – Kratom Eye website
“One minor issue, I didn’t get the exact variety of Free Samples that I wanted, but it’s not something I paid for so no big deal.” – Kratom Eye website
“Price was a little high.” – Kratom Eye website
“Too strong for me. Good, just not for me.” – Kratom Eye website
Kratom Eye makes it easy for customer to get price cuts by way of their dedicated promotions page. Visiting the designated page on their website showcases all of the active promotional offers that you can use to cut down your grand total.
Aside from that, Kratom Eye also has a mailing list that sends product vouchers and discount codes straight to your email address. And although they have a Facebook page, they’re not exactly too active on socials. So, these two options are your best bet for getting updated price cuts.
Kratom Eye doesn’t talk about lab testing on their website. The vendor stays mum when it comes to their stance on third-party evaluations. But because there are some brands who keep testing on the downlow despite actually putting their products through labs, we can’t really say for certain where KE stands in terms of testing.
No, Kratom Eye is not an AKA certified or affiliated member. The American Kratom Association (AKA) oversees kratom vendors to make sure they meet specific standards. These standards are put in place to prevent bad or potentially dangerous product from entering the market.
The AKA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) program assesses facilities, machines, employees, and procedures to make sure products are clean and safe. As of writing, Kratom Eye has not submitted itself for an assessment to the AKA, and is thus not GMP-certified.
Based on information online, it seems that Kratom Eye may be a legitimate source of kratom. Their track record remains clean, with no prior history of recalls or legal battles. It’s important to keep in mind though that the vendor may be censoring negative and critical comments, which definitely raises some red flags.
If you’re looking to get live kratom plants, Kratom Eye makes a solid choice. But if you’re looking to get your hands on good ol’ kratom powder, you need to make sure you’re ready to pay the added price.
Without any lab testing or AKA-GMP certification however, there’s no guarantee that their batches are totally free from contamination. Even then, lots of buyer stand by the brand despite their lack of testing and GMP-compliance.
