This week, several kratom ban initiatives have hit a number of small American towns, and — as always — we’ve got the latest and greatest kratom discounts.

Small Town Kratom Ban Wave Hits America

Over the last few weeks, representatives of several small American towns and cities have announced their intentions to ban kratom.

In Franklin, New Hampshire, Franklin City Council voted unanimously to ban the use, possession, sale, distribution, and purchase of kratom on August 5th, 2019. Franklin is the first city in New Hampshire to introduce legislation of this type.

On Monday, September 16th, 2019, Mayor Mike McCormick of Godfrey, Illinois also expressed interest in a kratom ban. McCormick’s ban would follow in the footsteps of similar kratom bans in neighbouring Illinois communities, including Glen Carbon, Jerseyville, and Alton.

Commenting on the ban’s motivation, Alton Police Chief Jason Simmons stated, “Kids were getting sick [with] severe stomach issues, panic attacks, and other ailments” from kratom.

In Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, lawmakers are making similar strides. The Point Pleasant Beach Council is looking to prohibit the sale of kratom via legislation that its members will vote on in early October.

A New Jersey Assemblyman, Ronald Dancer, has also proposed New Jersey Assembly Bill 2865, which will criminalize the manufacture, sale, and possession of substances containing kratom.
