Celebrity Singer Sia Tweets About Kratom to Millions of Followers
On Tuesday, October 29th, Sia took to Twitter to inquire about kratom’s pain-relieving properties and effectiveness.
The award-winning singer announced earlier this month that she suffers from neuralgia and Ehlers–Danlos syndrome (EDS) — two conditions that can cause chronic pain.
She later clarified that she was evaluating kratom as a tentative aid for a third diagnosed condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Type 2. The disease manifests as extreme pain that can eventually spread throughout the body.
In another Twitter reply, Sia stated that she had been “tapering off opioids as we know they aren’t good long term for crps2,” and that she’d also been receiving “massive” intravenous ketamine doses for the condition, but that they had stopped working.
Sia’s followers and fans took the opportunity to voice their opinions and experiences with the plant-based drug. Some endorsed it, while others were skeptical and advised the singer to proceed with caution.
“It can help but it can be addictive too,” one user wrote. Another Twitter user replied with “honestly it’s been a lifesaver for me and my fibro flares.”
